Programme Overview

The M.Sc. (Ag.) in Horticulture with a specialization in Vegetable Science is a two-year postgraduate course focused on both the cultivation and processing of various vegetable crops such as potato, tomato, chilli, brinjal, garlic, onion, basella, lettuce, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, drumstick, and others. This programme emphasizes building and enhancing research infrastructure like fields, labs, and documentation systems for vegetable science. It also works on the advancement of vegetable varieties from cool and warm seasons, as well as lesser-known or underutilized vegetables and spices. Special attention is given to post-harvest technology and the overall development of the horticulture sector.
